Project Finance
Debt and DFI funding for low-carbon fuel projects
I introduce SAF, hydrogen, waste-to-energy and other circularity projects in Southeast Asia to commercial lenders, development finance institutions and infrastructure debt providers, and I find out what they need to see.
The problem
First-of-a-kind fuel projects are hard to finance. Lenders and DFIs want proven technology, secured feedstock, creditworthy offtake and a sponsor with a clear plan. Developers often discover what is missing only after a first refusal.
A project that is not ready to be financed does not need more introductions. It needs to know why, and what to fix first.
How I help
I start by assessing whether your project can realistically become bankable. Then I use my network to reach the lenders and DFIs that are active in your fuel and your country, and I bring back what they require.
- I map commercial lenders, DFIs, export credit agencies and infrastructure debt funds with real appetite for your project.
- I open the conversations and report direct feedback, so you know what is missing before you spend on the wrong work.
- I work with experienced partners on what lenders expect to see: a feasibility study and financial model, an independent technical review, and the contracts and risk allocation behind them.
Typical outcome. A map of lenders with real appetite, and clear feedback on what is missing for bankability.
Debt and equity move together: see Investor Introductions for the equity side.
Before lenders: bankability
Lenders do not finance potential. They finance projects that have answered their questions on feedstock, offtake, technology, regulation and structure. If your project is not there yet, start with the Roadmap to Bankability, then come back to the lenders with a stronger case.
Who I connect you with
Commercial lenders
Banks and credit funds that finance energy and infrastructure assets in Asia and beyond.
Development finance institutions
Development banks and multilateral lenders with a mandate to finance circularity projects in emerging markets.
Infrastructure debt providers
Infrastructure debt funds and export credit agencies that finance larger projects once the commercial basis is in place.
Preparing for lenders?
Tell me about your project. I will tell you how lenders and DFIs are likely to read it.
